Ontdekt worden en een glamoureus leven leiden als topmodel is een droom die veel meiden hebben. Maar hoe realistisch is dat? Waar begin je? En hoe ver ga je? Als internationaal topmodel Yfke Sturm maakte het zelf allemaal mee. Zij werd op haar vijftiende ontdekt in de Hema. In de persoonlijke stijlgids die ze heeft geschreven tracht ze op humoristische en kritische wijze een blik in de wereld van een supermodel.
Allerlei onderwerpen komen aan bod: do’s & don’ts voor castings, de belangrijke must knows voor fotoshoots, waardevolle fashion rules, hoe je jezelf onder de aandacht brengt en natuurlijk gezonde eetgewoontes. Pagina’s vol persoonlijke ervaringen en niet eerder gepubliceerd fotomateriaal.
Yfke Sturm (Almere, 1981) won op haar vijftiende de International Model Look Contest. Sindsdien is ze een internationaal succesvol topmodel met opdrachtgevers als Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar en Elle en werkt ze met topfotografen als Mario Testino, Sante d’Orazia, Bruce Weber en Peter Lindbergh. Yfke verscheen in campagnes van onder anderen Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Armani, Ferrè, Mango en Garnier. Daarnaast presenteerde ze twee seizoenen het televisieprogramma Holland’s Next Top Model. Yfke woont met haar man Imad in New York.
Half april 2009 moet het boek ’Yfkes model secrets’ in de winkel liggen. Het wordt uitgegeven door Truth & Dare
