Natuurlijk is Madonna de moeder van David, maar de vrouw die het jongetje in Malawi heeft opgevoed, is overleden.
Asineti Mwale is ook niet de biologische moeder van David. Davids echte moeder stierf namelijk bijna onmiddelijk na zijn geboorte in 2005. Asineti Mwale hielp de vader van de kleuter, Yohane Banda, het kind opvoeden na de dood van de biologische moeder. Dit meldt Female First.
De 60-jarige vrouw overleed zondag aan de gevolgen van een longontsteking. Ze heeft altijd achter de adoptie van David gestaan.
